Avoid having to wave your dog goodbye whilst you go on holiday - bring them with you! If we get to go on holiday from time to time, why shouldn't we say the same for our pets? Dogs love to explore new places, and what better than exploring those new places together. We are a lover of dogs here at The Old Mill Holiday Cottage - our pooch Eli is our biggest canine fan!
Travelling With Your Pets
Every pet is different, and they may feel uneasy about travelling in a car. If you’re travelling a long distance, you may want to offer something that will make them feel calmer. Consult your vet if you think your dog may struggle whilst travelling. Alongside this, the key is to ensure that your pet is comfortable and happy, so they can enjoy the holiday as much as you do.
Pack Your Pets Essentials
No need to worry about bringing a dog bed, dog treats and dog towel for your stay here - we provide them for you! One thing you may have to remember is to bring their favourite dog toy though, which is personal to them of course. Toys will be a great help to keep them entertained, especially during downtime at the cottage.
Dog Friendly Walks in North Wales
Staying at The Old Mill Holiday Cottages, you are in the perfect spot to allow your dog to explore some new terrain. There are a plethora of local walks in North Wales you can explore close by.
There are also local pubs that welcome dogs, so you can enjoy a meal out without leaving them behind.
North Wales can be known for its unpredictable weather, so you may need to bring along your dog's coat. It’s best to be prepared for all weathers!
Safety First
Your dog will be welcomed to a new area, so they will not be familiar with the surrounding areas, including new walking routes they may explore during your stay. It's good to be mindful of this when taking your canine friends outdoors.
Accidents can happen, so in the rare event that your pet causes any damage, please report it to the property owner.
If you do need to leave your pet alone in the cottage, ensure they are comfortable. Leave them with their favourite toys or treats to keep them occupied. Lick mats are a great example! By planning your stay so your dog is most comfortable, will help you and your dog have a stress-free getaway in North Wales.
Share Your Experience
Once your stay has come to an end, take a moment to leave feedback about the property. Sharing your experience helps other pet owners find the perfect getaway and provides valuable insights for the property owner. Highlight what made the stay enjoyable for your pet, and any tips for future guests.
A little support leaving a thoughtful review can make a big difference in the pet friendly travel community and help support small business owners!
