Moel Famau Country Park - is in the heart of the Clwydian Range Area of Natural outstanding beauty. At the main entrance to the park is an ideal area for picnics, complete with children's play area and refreshments. There are many walks available from here, with fantastic views across to Snowdonia and Merseyside. The summit of Moel Famau is 554m, at the top lies the ruin of the Jubilee Tower, an iconic landmark of the area that can be seen in all directions.
Loggerheads Country park with it's beautiful wooded river valley, complete with dramatic cliffs and out crop it is a great place for a stroll or a starting point to begin exploring the Clwydian Range. Snowdon is the highest mountain in Wales and approximately an hours drive from the Old Mill. It can be explored by foot along one of the many marked paths which are suitable for range of abilities or you can even take a train to the summit (1085m). The scenery is fantastic, and on a clear day you're rewarded with magnificent views. When you reach the summit you can even have a rest in the visitor centre and cafe, the highest in Wales!
