Where do our menu ingredients come
from?
The Old Mill sources ingredients for our breakfast
menu locally where it is possible and practical.
Our Milk, Cream and Eggs comes from Colin Lewis who
owns Coed Du Farm at Hendre, which is three miles east
of The Old Mill.
The ‘Village Dairy’ Yoghurts are made
by Falmai and Gareth Roberts on their family farm at
Tal-Y-Bryn in Llannefydd just a few miles to the south
in the Vale of Clwyd.
Bacon and Sausage is supplied by Frederick Kennedy
of Holywell, about 5 miles to the North. Frederick
has won ‘Best in Wales’ for his Plain Pork
Sausage at the NEC in Birmingham, ‘Best in Wales’ for
his home cured bacon in the ‘All Wales Championships’ and
nine gold awards & two silver awards for ‘Excellence
for Meat Products’
Our Tomatoes, Mushrooms and Bread are bought in local
shops and stores in our nearby shopping centre of Mold.
